Donate any change you can spare via one of
the collection tins
Even if you only have a little of that annoying
brown shrapnel left at the end of
your holiday we'd be grateful for it. It may be only pennies but
you'd be surprised how it all adds up. You will find a collection
tin on the bar in Aliti's. |

* KATs UK exists only to raise
funds for Kefalonia Animal Trust (Greece). It was
set up to enable the charity to qualify for GIft AId. Gift
Aid enables charities to reclaim the basic rate of tax on donations
from UK taxpayers (25p for every £1 you give). In other words, whatever
you donate via the UK account, KATs gets an extra 25% from the tax man
at no extra cost to you. |
Use easyfundraising.org.uk when you do your online shopping It's a way for you to make a 'free' donation to KATs. Go
to easyfundraising.org.uk and nominate Kefalonia Animal Trust as your
chosen charity. After that, if you use easyfundraising to do your
online shopping you still only pay the cost of your purchase but KATs
gets extra money from the vendor. To date (April 2017) shoppers using easyfundraising have raised over £2,000 'free money' for KATs just by participating.

Knitting,
sewing & crochet patterns and materials
KATs has a group of
volunteers on the island who make toys & garments both
for sale and for the animals. They don't charge for this but raw
materials can be
hard to find at a reasonable price here. You could help by posting or
bringing us
your odds and ends. They weigh very little and don't take up much space
so
they are cheap to post from the UK or can be squashed into odd corners
of your
suitcase.

Veterinary supplies
If you work at a
veterinary surgery you probably have to discard perfectly usable
supplies and medication after their 'use by date' because of strict UK
regulations.
Please send them to us - anything we can't use at the shelter goes to
the vet who
tends to all our strays and rescue animals. The
most foolproof way of getting supplies to KATs is to send then to a UK
address. EU regulations will not allow you to post medication to
Greece. Contact Pat/KATs for instructions.
|
Donate surplus supplies to our charity shops If
you've overpacked and have clothes, beachtowels, books or anything you
don't want to take back home please donate them to KATs. We have two
charity shops on the island where we can convert them into cash.

DVDs KATs
plans to start a DVD rental library to raise funds so any unwanted
films or tv series you could donate would be most appreciated. Have a
stocktake and root out the things you never watch. DVDs aren't
too heavy or bulky so they wouldn't cost a fortune to post or take up
too much room in your case if you brought them with you.

Aliti's Bar weekly bonus ball lottery
You can have a flutter and help the animals by doing
the Bonus Ball Lottery at
Aliti's. Pay a euro and pick a number between 1 & 59. If your
number is the bonus
ball on Saturday's UK Lotto, you get half of whatever is in the pot and
KATs gets
the other half.
